Mohr Hackett provides expertise in understanding and negotiating the rules and procedures formulated by administrative agencies. We represent clients who are affected by agency decisions and who are involved in various application or approval processes required by an administrative agency.
Administrative law (or regulatory law) deals with the procedures, decisions, and enforcement initiated by governmental agencies or other non-profit or bureaucratic bodies. Examples of Federal administrative agencies would be the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the State Department. Examples of local or Arizona administrative agencies would be the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, the Arizona Department of Real Estate, the Arizona Motor Vehicle Department or the Arizona Department of Transportation, the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners, the Arizona Structural Pest Control Board, school districts, water or utilities districts, or any governmental licensing or regulatory board. Examples of private administrative bodies would be homeowners’ associations and labor unions.
